Few herbs like echinacea, licorice, dandelion root and burdock are believed to comprise certain properties that help kill bacteria that are the root cause of adult acne. These herbs may be used by both male and female sufferers.

Pantothenic Acid, commonly known as Vitamin B5, is also a commonly used vitamin to treat acne.

Topical treatments such as seaweed and tea tree oil are also common adult acne treatment methods. These are believed to comprise powerful antibacterial properties that effectively reduce acne inflammations.
